Our Go-To Downtown Lunch Spot: Sage Café 🥪
When we need a lunch that never misses, we head straight to Sage Café on Houston Street. It's tucked right on the square at 210 W Houston St, and it's been one of our favorite downtown stops for years.
The man behind the menu is Chef Robert Aranson, who brings more than 20 years of cooking right here in Sherman. You can taste it. Everything feels made from scratch, because it is. 👨🍳
What we keep ordering:
🍅 Tomato basil soup paired with a sandwich (the classic Sage combo)
🥪 Hot paninis and the Reuben people can't stop talking about
🥗 Spinach berry salad with candied pecans and poppy seed dressing
🥔 Homemade chips, which are worth the trip alone
⭐ Daily specials, like seared tuna over jasmine rice when it's on the board
It's cozy, the service is fast and friendly, and it fills up quickly at noon. Our tip: get there early or call ahead for to-go.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Bonus: Sage also hosts private evening events like rehearsal dinners, showers, and company dinners.
Fun fact: Sage sits right next door to Pickles & Pottery. Grab lunch Friday, then come back Saturday evening to paint a pumpkin. 🎃
Now we want to hear from you! 🍴 Downtown Sherman has had a wave of new lunch spots lately. What's YOUR favorite place to grab lunch downtown? Just hit reply and tell us. We may feature your pick in an upcoming issue!
