Sherman Could Get the Largest Hotel and Convention Center in Grayson County 🏨🏗️
Picture hosting the family reunion, the wedding weekend, or the big work conference right here in Sherman. No more sending everyone down 75 to find a room.
That’s the idea behind The Ridge at Stone Creek, a proposed 46-acre mixed-use project along South Highway 75. The Sherman Planning and Zoning Commission just approved the planned development request.
Here’s what’s in the current concept:
🏨 Up to a 250-room hotel
🏢 A 40,000-square-foot convention center
🍽️ Restaurants and a food hall
🛍️ Retail
🏠 Residential
🌳 Public spaces and more
The developer says the hotel and convention center would be the largest in Grayson County. That’s a big claim, and a big deal for a town our size.
What happens next: P&Z approval doesn’t mean shovels in the ground tomorrow. The final site plan and building designs still have to go through the city’s normal review process, so details could change along the way.

Classic cars, custom trophies built in-house, a taco truck, a snow cone truck, door prizes, and a 50/50 raffle. Gearhead Next Door Garage is also opening its shop for an open house.

Bring a friend (or your favorite person) and build your own clay gnome in this beginner hand-building class. You’ll come back a week later to paint it after it’s fired. Tickets must be purchased ahead of time.
🎃 Trunk or Treat & Halloween Festival

Free and open to everyone, with vendors, food, a costume parade, and plenty of candy. Get the costumes out early this year.
🎻 Sherman Symphony Orchestra Fall Concert

The first concert of the season comes with a fun twist: “Sketch the Symphony.” Bring a pencil and draw what you see and hear, no experience needed and all ages welcome.
⭐ Pick of the Week: The Gearhead Classics Car Show is the one I’d bring the whole family to. Kids can enter the free Kids Jr. Car Show with a decked-out power wheels, wagon, or go-kart, and every kid gets to vote for their favorite car and hand the Kid’s Pick trophy to the winner. Proceeds benefit a local Sherman nonprofit, so you’re doing good while you’re having fun. 🏆
