Could a $45 Billion Chip Project Be Headed to Sherman? 👀
Sherman is already growing fast, and there's a chance something even bigger is on the way. 🚨
New reports say Sherman is a frontrunner for a massive semiconductor project. According to state documents first reported by the Dallas Business Journal, an unnamed chipmaker is looking at a $45 billion investment in two chip plants.
That could mean about 5,000 jobs over six years, with production starting in late 2029. Read the full story here.
The company everyone's watching: Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), one of the biggest chipmakers in the world. Its CEO recently confirmed TSMC is looking at Texas for its next expansion.
Why Sherman makes sense: Texas Instruments, GlobalWafers, and Coherent are already building here. Lake Texoma also gives us the water supply these plants need.

⚠️ Nothing is official yet. Sherman hasn't been confirmed as the site, and TSMC hasn't confirmed it's the company behind the plans. Reports say a location decision could come as early as next month, so I'll keep you posted. 📍
