Sherman's Water Bills Could Be Going Up This Fall
Let's talk about something that affects every single one of us: water. 💧
City leaders are considering a proposed 10.8% increase to Sherman water rates. The reason behind it is a new 84 inch water line from Lake Texoma, along with other infrastructure improvements needed to keep up with the city's growth.
Here's what you need to know:
Nothing has been finalized yet. This is still a proposal.
A final decision is expected in October.
This is separate from the industrial water rate increases that were already approved earlier this year.
Growth is a good problem to have, but it comes with real costs, and infrastructure like this is what keeps our water reliable as Sherman keeps expanding. Still, a rate hike is a rate hike, and it's going to hit every household differently.
So I'll ask you what the city is asking: do you support the proposed increase if it means improving Sherman's long term water system? Hit reply and let me know where you land. I read every response. 👇

How Fast Will Your Sherman Home Sell?
If you're thinking about selling your Sherman home, the first thing you need to know is how long it's actually going to take, and the answer depends almost entirely on your price point.
Right now, well priced homes in the $200k to $350k range are moving in two to four weeks. Move up into the $400k to $500k range and you're looking at 45 to 60 days on average, and that's not a red flag, it's just a smaller pool of qualified buyers at that price point.
